She also is a licensed marriage and family therapist (Board of Behavioral Sciences license MFC 43084) with an entrepreneurial spirit that led her to create StepINtuit Healing Arts Oasis. StepINtuit functions as a portal that leads individual clients toward living their best life responsibly and on purpose, and organizational clients toward a healthier, happier, more productive workforce.
Her primary goal for the organization is to encourage and support well-being, while promoting positive social change.
Marti believes strongly in the co-creation process which involves partnering with clients, community partners / collaborators, innovative practitioners and policy makers that value well-being. She approaches well-being using the wisdom of ancient and modern teachings, principles and methodologiesAdditionally, she incorporates the ideas, motivations, practices and beliefs of her clients into their well-being programs demonstrating her understanding that clients are the experts in their own lives. She recognizes her role as a resource / asset clients choose to assist in their growth and development.
During her 15-years of community service as a marriage and family therapist, Marti developed programs to address the “whole person” because she realized that mental health is connected to emotional, physical, social, behavioral, spiritual, financial, occupational /vocational and relational health and well-being. StepINtuit Healing Arts Oasis is the result of her desire to ignite “whole-self” care and support clients’ efforts to maintain their overall well-being.
Marti, for a number of years, facilitated workshops and training for individuals and groups with the intent of improving their mental health. She facilitated trainings for organizations, like Outward Bound Los Angeles, D’Veal Family and Youth Services and Pacific Clinics. Marti collaborated with several Los Angeles County based organizations, including Day One, Pasadena City College and Pasadena Unified School District to assist with increasing the potential for students’ academic and social success. She was often praised for her ability to connect with clients, including large audiences, because of her wit and sincere delivery of the well-being and social advocacy messages.
To augment her formal education, Marti has training in mindfulness, creating art for healing and the Native American medicine wheel. In addition, Marti received training as a wilderness guide and a Certified Parent Project Facilitator. She speaks passionately about integrating the diverse principles of her training in a way that can assists women, moms, well-being practitioners, artists, entrepreneurs, visionaries and busy seniors and men interested in looking, feeling, doing and being their “best” as opposed to just being “okay” or “spiraling” on the perpetual wheel of compromised health, shame, blame, guilt, fear, bad behaviors, poor social interactions and arrested spirituality.
Today she is recognized for her exceptional, authentic, wise counsel and as a GPS” of resourcefulness. Her message has been delivered through presentations, workshops and lectures such as:
